Football – General Advice

The Football Association (FA) has advised that all grassroots football in England is postponed for the foreseeable future. Please see below for guidance.

Courses & CPD

Delivery of all Coach Education courses and CPD is suspended with immediate effect

If you have already booked a course you will be offered a transfer to another course as soon as the restrictions are lifted and we are able to make arrangements.

At this stage we are still taking bookings for the FA Level 1 in Coaching Football course starting on 27^th June but please be aware this course may also be suspended pending further government advice.

Charter Standard Health Check Deadlines

The current Charter Standard Health Check deadline is 31^st March 2020, however, we are aware that due to our course cancellations this may affect clubs’ Health Checks. We are awaiting guidance from The FA regarding this and will communicate to Club Secretaries and/or Charter Standard Co-ordinators as soon we have any further information.

Coaching Course Bursaries

If you have received a bursary for a Level 1 in Coaching Football and this course has now been postponed, we will be in touch shortly to notify you of the rebooking process. Please note that we do not anticipate that this will affect your funding at this stage.

Worcestershire FA County Awards

Unfortunately, due to Government advice on social gatherings in the immediate future, we have had to cancel the awards which was scheduled for the 27^th March. It is our aim to reschedule these in the Autumn. We will notify all those involved at a later date.

WFA Meetings/events

Any meetings or events that have been organised by Worcestershire FA are postponed until further notice. If you have any queries regarding a meeting you had scheduled with a member of staff, please contact them directly for further information. Otherwise, we will be in contact if we are to reschedule.

Coach Mentors

Following last night’s update in Government Guidance and subsequent postponement of Grassroots Football for the foreseeable future The FA have decided to suspend all Mentoring activity with immediate effect. This will be in place for the foreseeable future in line with central guidance.

I am sure you will understand this has been difficult decision however sure you will agree this is best in the current environment.

Facilities

If you club is currently  has submitted a Football Foundation application, these applications will still remain live and we encourage you to continue as normal. If for any reason you think your application is going to be delayed, please contact Martin Collier martin.collier@worcestershirefa.com for further guidance.

All Pitch Improvement Programme pitch inspections are cancelled until further notice. Please contact martin.collier@worcestershirefa.com for further information regarding this programme.

Futsal

All grassroots football is suspended, this includes Futsal. We are still aiming to hold a number of events for the upcoming season and we will update you with further information nearer the time.

3 Counties Ability Counts League

Next fixture day (22^nd March in Shropshire) has been cancelled. The committee will be reviewing the situation for the 3^rd May fixture day in Worcestershire where we will notify clubs of a decision nearer the time as well as via our social media platforms (@worcsfa).

Inclusion Advisory Group

The next meeting date is yet to be confirmed. Further information regarding a future date will be released at a later date.

Veterans’ Football (over 35’s)

With the league being a summer league, the committee will be monitoring the ever changing situation. With all football activity being suspended for the foreseeable future, we will have to review the situation closer to the time. Any updates will be communicated to club secretaries as well as on our social media platforms (@worcsFA).

All Grassroots Leagues

Currently, all grassroots football is suspended until further notice. No matches are to be played as you will not be sanctioned. Match officials have also been advised can not officiate during this time. We are currently seeking clarification from insurers as we think that Public Liability cover and Player Personal Accident cover would not be valid during this period of suspension- this would mean that training, friendlies etc would NOT be covered by insurance. We will issue clarification on this as soon as we receive it from BlueFin.

Meetings

All meetings with new sessions (disability/inclusion/adult male) are cancelled. Ben is available for a phone/video meeting if needed.
